Fara Bitter, CPM LDEM CD BSPH
Fara Bitter is the owner of Mountain Creek Midwifery, LLC. She serves clients throughout the state of Utah.
She is a Licensed Direct-Entry Midwife and a Certified Professional Midwife with
over 27 years of experience including 12 years of experience working in high-volume birth centers managing 60-90 births per year. She has attended hundreds of births and helped thousands of families.
She is a Certified HypnoDoula and taught HypnoBirthing Childbirth Education classes for 10 years. She specializes in client-centered care and is dedicated to helping clients have their best birth possible. She values connecting with each client and designs her care with trust and connection in mind.

Fara believes that clients are the best decision-makers for their care. She provides informed consent and education throughout the entire pregnancy and birthing experience. She applies Trauma-Informed Care.

Fara was first introduced to birth as a teenager, witnessing both home and hospital births and attending a homebirth as a doula for a family member. This sparked a passion for birth within her, and she soon started attending Midwifery School.

She started her formal Midwifery education in 1998 at the Utah College of Midwives. She became a Doula in 2000, a Childbirth Educator, and a Certified HypnoBirthing Practitioner in 2001. She is also a Certified Hypnobabies Doula. She started her midwifery apprenticeship and internship with Heather Johnston at BirthWise Maternity Care in 2006. She had an extensive internship which was completed in 2013.
In 2015, she became a Certified Professional Midwife and a Licensed Direct-Entry Midwife. She has extensive experience working as an Advanced Primary Midwife in busy birth centers throughout Utah, including Better Birth and BirthWise.
Fara had all her babies at home, and she understands what it is like preparing as an expectant parent for out-of-hospital birth. Her experience helps families navigate the many decisions that parents make in their preparations for birth.
She received her Associate's Degree in Science in 2022 and her Bachelor's Degree of Science with an emphasis on Public Health Education and Promotion in 2024.
Additional experience includes an internship at the Utah Department of Health and Human Resources Perinatal Infant and Mortality Review Committee.
